Hey Friends! Summer is here so there’s no better time than NOW to spruce up those outdoor spaces!
When we were looking for a new home last year, one of the biggest things on our family wish list was usable outdoor space so when we had our new home built we splurged on a fancy, screened-in “gameday” patio. The space was already really pretty but it didn’t have a warm and welcoming feeling. I really wanted to add lots of cozy touches that would make this space seem like an extension of our home rather than just an ordinary patio.
First things first: I started with a nice clean slate by removing all the old, worn furniture and then I gave the patio a really good scrub (the pollen has been brutal here this season). Then I stared looking for color inspiration. I wanted to stay away from all of the bold patterns and prints that you normally see in outdoor décor. As I was scouring the internet I found this sweet little planter and I knew right away that the pastel color palette was perfect for this project. Different shades of blue add a tranquil, calming vibe and coral is already having a moment in the interior of our home so it just made sense.
We were on a pretty tight budget so I purchased the largest aqua colored outdoor rug that I could afford. A quality outdoor rug is the quickest, easiest way to add a huge dose of comfort to your outdoor space and it’s the biggest bang for your buck! I really can’t stress that enough.
Next, I spent countless hours looking for an outdoor sectional that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. As it turns out, it’s super hard to find quality outdoor furniture for under $1000. Anyway, I finally managed to find this one on Amazon for well under that. I’ll be honest, aesthetically, it was not my first choice, but once we got it all set up I’ve been so pleased with it. It’s comfy, casual, seats a ton of people and it comes with a coffee table which is a nice added bonus. You can shop my sectional here.
I jazzed it all up with lots of beautiful textured pillows reiterating the pretty pastel color palette.
I’ve been holding on to my collection of thrifted shell chandeliers for months now, just waiting for the right spot to group them. They look so pretty hanging overhead and I love that I can see them from inside our living room as well. We also hung an outdoor ceiling fan to keep us cool and dreamy white curtains for added privacy.
The piece de resistance is our gorgeous coral blush hammock chair provided by Limbo Imports. It’s such a fun accent, adds loads of character and we all fight over who gets to sit in it. You can shop my hammock chair here.
Last but not least, what’s an outdoor space without twinkle lights?! It looks so fun at night.
You can now shop my home and my outdoor space all in one place! Head over to my Amazon Storefront and check it out.
I can’t wait to see everyone else’s summer ready spaces!
